Modern Warfare 2 Akimbo Shotgun Re-balanced

Earlier today Infinity Ward released a patch to re-balance the overly exploited power of the akimbo shotguns. Most notably the dual wielding of the Model 1887 shotgun. The accuracy and range of this weapon have now been reduced.
Also the patch fixes the bug that randomly placed players into private matches.
It’s nice to see Infinity Ward [...]

Modern Warfare 2 Javelin Exploit Fixed

Patch 1.06 was released early this morning to fix the Javelin Exploit in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer mode. For those of you who don’t know, this exploit allowed users to detonate their Javelin missile upon death creating a very large blast radius which would take out any nearby players.
For the past week or more, Infinity [...]

Madden 10 Patch #2 Available for Xbox 360

The Madden 10 patch that went live for the PS3 last week is finally available for Xbox 360. Simply start the game while connected to Xbox Live to receive the patch.
Hopefully my players will finally cover the flat zones correctly in online play so people will stop running screen plays and running back dump offs [...]

Madden 10 Patch #2 Released for PS3

PS3 owners will be able to download the new Madden patch by simply starting their game while connected to PSN. Earlier this year I wrote a post on how the NBA 2K10 patch hit Xbox Live before PSN but this time around it looks like PSN beat out Xbox Live. The Xbox patch will be [...]

Madden 10 Patch #2 Awaiting Approval

An update on the second Madden 10 patch was posted on the EA sports blog so we can only speculate that the patch is now awaiting approval. In addition to the original patch details, they also mentioned a few more updates added in the patch.

Modern Warfare 2 Downloadable Content Coming Spring 2010

News broke over the holiday weekend that Modern Warfare 2 DLC will be coming this spring. This is incredibly vague but at least we know Infinity Ward is making an effort to keep us playing the best game ever made.
Chances are this DLC won’t be free and what is actually included is up in the [...]

Facebook Coming to Playstation 3 Today

Just a day after Microsoft released their Facebook community on Xbox Live, Sony has announced Facebook will be coming to the Playstation 3 as well.
In my opinion Facebook on a gaming console is pretty useless but this definitely is an example of the role-reversal going on in the gaming industry. Microsoft used to model the [...]

Modern Warfare 2 – Gamestop Midnight Release

I intentionally arrived late at 12:20am to avoid a long line but when I got there this was the scene in Irvine CA. The line moved quickly and I was able to checkout by 1am but that was much later than I had originally expected. This was the line for people who pre-ordered but didn’t [...]

PS3 Netflix Streaming Discs in the Wild

(I laughed when I saw “Do not return disc to Netflix”)
I just received my PS3 Instant Streaming Disc in the mail today but I’m not too excited about it because I’ve had this capability on the Xbox 360 for some time now. The PS3 now holds a firm ground in the media player battle where [...]

NBA 2k10 Patch Coming Tomorrow – Xbox 360

After 2k Sports announced they had submitted their NBA 2k10 patches for Xbox 360 and PS3 earlier this week it was assumed the patches wouldn’t be available until next week. However, it looks like Xbox 360 owners will be lucky enough to receive the patch before PS3 owners. I guess the turnaround on Xbox Live [...]
