In my last post I talked about how the XCM 1080p Mega Cool VGA converter didn’t live up to my expectations. However, today I want to talk about how the HDFury2 is the perfect solution for my situation. Unfortunately it is a little more expensive as well which is why I didn’t go along with [...]

XCM 1080p Mega Cool VGA – Review
So ever since I got my PS3 I’ve been looking for solutions to hook up my PS3 to my LCD monitor in my room. I’m running a 26″ monitor Soyo which only has regular VGA and DVI ports. It also does not support HDCP which is required for running any blu-ray devices. If you do [...]
MediaTemple with CakePhp Session Lost during Refresh
Problem:
I just came across as strange problem with using CakePhp on MediaTemple. This is my first CakePhp application on MediaTemple but I am experienced when it comes to CakePhp. The problem occurs after logging in and creating a session, then quickly refresh the page multiple times. Sometimes the result will be an empty session.
The login [...]
Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000: Review
I first got this mouse because I needed an ergonomic mouse for long hours of work. Since this mouse would be used for work I decided to look for a new mouse outside of my norm. At home I’ve been using a Logitech MX610 (Right-handed version discontinued) for years and I love it’s ability to [...]
Back in Business
Well the transition was a lot quicker than I anticipated and my hosting was switched without too much trouble. Switching to MediaTemple (gs) Grid Server was quick and easy however there were a few things that struck me as odd.
Databases and Database users must be prefixed with a forced value that resembles your individual Grid [...]
See you on the flip side
I’ll be slowly switching hosts over the next few weeks. So I probably won’t have any new posts until the transition is completed. I’m moving from Dreamhost to Media Temple which should be a nice change. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Media Temple but it’s also more expensive. I’ll write a blog [...]
Gmail Themes
My favorite Gmail themes so far are the “Shiny” theme and the “Phantasea” theme. It really doesn’t make a difference but Google is finally making their clients feel at home. I’m wondering if the themes will carry over to the Calendar and Documents.
LittleBigWorkshop not supporting IE6
I noticed they were using some transparent .PNG backgrounds so I decided to check it out in IE6 and behold the carnage. While not really carnage they just ask you to upgrade your browser. If LBP can force their users to upgrade to a better browser then why can’t I? Internet Explorer 6 still holds [...]
Drupal LA Convention
So far the convention has been pretty informative on a beginner level. It has really gotten me more excited about learning Drupal since I haven’t learned much just from listening to presentations. Like they say, there’s nothing better than jumping right in yourself.
I guess this convention just gave me more confidence in trying it myself. [...]
iPhone 2.1 Update – Quick Review, How-to
I just downloaded the new 2.1 iPhone Firmware and sadly there were no big features introduced. That’s what you get for listening to rumors all week. However, this is nice in a way since there were bugs to fix in the old features.
The big bug that I hoped they would fix is the keyboard lag [...]
