Lent 2010 – Week 2

Another week of lent is in the books. Unfortunately I’m still feeling relatively the same as last week. However I’ve been more active this past weekend which made it much easier. This weekend I was out of the house and occupied so it didn’t give me any time to be bored and tempted to play [...]

Memento Subliminal Message

I was watching Memento late last night and noticed a split second shot I’ve never seen before. At one point in the movie (1:30) while Lenny is talking about Sammy Jankis there are a few frames where Sammy is replaced in the shot by Lenny himself. The transition is quick and may not even be [...]

Where The Wild Things Are – Quick Review

I had a chance to see “Where the Wild Things are” this past weekend and I have to say it left me with a bit of disappointment. The visuals and soundtrack were great but that alone does not make a great movie. The movie didn’t leave me with any uplifting feelings or nostalgia I prepared [...]

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Spoilers)

I had a chance to catch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen this past weekend and it was less than stellar. It actually made the first movie look better in comparison. But according to the box office its all about movies with unlimited budgets, leading actresses and nostalgic branding. Yea that’s the formula for success right [...]

X-Men Origins: Wolverine – A view from the outside

According to Metacritic.com this movie is terrible (44). Thankfully, I haven’t wasted my money on it. I read a leaked summary of the script before the movie came out. I knew the movie was going to be terrible, I was just curious how terrible it could be. In all honesty the story wasn’t too bad [...]

Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist: Quick Review

Today I got the chance to check out a wonderfully awesome movie.  I’ve been anticipating the movie’s release since I first saw the trailer ages ago. The movie definitely has heart as well as a great young cast. With a sense of humor and lovable characters it’s difficult to make a bad indie teenage flick. [...]

WALL-E shows heart. Promotes health and conservation.

I got the chance to catch the new Pixar movie WALL-E this past weekend. It was pretty fantastic. WALL-E is a definite upgrade over Ratatouille. Okay I’ll admit I did like Ratatouille when I first saw it but the characters were nowhere near as lovable as WALL-E and EVE.
How you can feel sad for a [...]

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay

I just saw this movie on opening day and I’ll have to say it’s probably a little better than the first, but if you weren’t a fan of the original movie don’t bother seeing this one. It’s more of the same kind of humor. I’ll keep this short since most people haven’t seen the movie [...]

The Other Boleyn Girl

**UPDATE Ok Scarlett wins… Selling yourself for a good cause, now thats noble. Link to ebay auction.

As if it wasn’t already hard enough to choose between the two…
I just saw this movie last night and I have to say it exceeded expectations. While I never questioned the ability of these beautiful young ladies I didn’t [...]

Cloverfield: Late I know…

I saw Cloverfield on Sunday and I was blown away. I’ll keep this short since everyone has already seen the movie. It was better than I expected and was captivating throughout. As soon as the monster attacks the movie is non-stop intensity.
