New Jersey Nets clearing cap for Lebron James
Last night before drafting any players the New Jersey Nets dealt Richard Jefferson to the Milwaukee Bucks for Bobby Simmons and Yi Jianlian. They cleared a whole lot of cap-space with Richard Jefferson’s contract. While they gave away a playoff veteran, a guy who finished in the top ten if you were tracking his fantasy numbers. He played long and hard for the Nets along side Jason Kidd who has since then been passed on. I think hes lost more than a step.
Jay-Z definitely wants the best young talent in the league and who else would fit the mold none other than Lebron James. Sounds like Jay-Z is willing to pay the bills too. Whats more fitting is that they will also be moving to Brooklyn soon. Now I guess the last piece of the puzzle is what to do with Vince Carter. Evidently he shot a terrible percentage last year and still seems like hes always battling injury. If anything I would try to convince him to stay for something close to a veterans minimum so he can play along Lebron James like a Ray Allen to a Paul Pierce. Now they just need to find a KG. If they could land Bosh along with Lebron that would make my head explode. But that’s merely impossible… If only young players started thinking about rings won instead of rings bought.

It’s too bad Vince has zero heart, because he’s probably the most gifted athlete we’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see James sign with the Knicks either, but their cap situation is, um, somewhat less flexible than the Nets’.
