The Legend of Zelda, Phantom Hourglass: Impressions

I beat this game this week. It took longer than the other reviews said it would but I was on a trip and that’s what the DS is for. This isn’t one of those games that you’d start up while waiting to be seated at a restaurant so this game requires its own dedicated playing time.
First off, I love the Windwaker style even though I never had the time to sit down and play it on the Gamecube. The graphics works perfectly on the DS, the simplistic style turns out to be the best I’ve seen on the system.
Everything you remember in the past Zelda games are back, including the puzzles, heart pieces, boomerangs and grappling hooks. So what makes this game any different? The story is pretty unique and the sailing is a nice alternative to horseback riding. The game gets a little repetitive at times because you have to return to the same dungeon a few times, each time delving a little deeper than before. Just like the most recent Zelda games the bosses are all fun to figure out.
I wouldn’t call this game difficult but its definitely fun. They even added boat customization to the many already existing features. It’s hard for me to say this game is a “Must Buy” because of the low replay value but I know it’s one of those games you’ll regret missing.
