Warriors keep it close but can’t finish off the Jazz in the final seconds
If you’ve already heard from the commentators the Warriors lost last night in the last seconds of the game. Stephen Jackson had an open 3 pointer to seal the win but it clanked and tipped back into the Jazz’s possession. It was a close game, as much as the commentators try to make it sounds like the Jazz man handled the Warriors, the truth is that it was close and evenly matched. Yes, Boozer was a monster on the boards but if your players out rebound the other team that much don’t you think the game should have been a blow out. Don Nelson should be thinking positively about the this game. They had a chance to win it on the road but sometimes the final shot doesn’t fall. Jackson has to be mulling over that shot since Baron and Nelson called his number to be the leader. If the Warriors can find a way to prevent the Jazz from coming up with rebounds they might just find them selves beating these guys. This is just one tiny voice, but I think that if these road games are this close… just think how good the warriors will play in Oakland. Too bad they don’t have the home court advantage in this series. They’re going to have to find out how to box some people out and steal a win in Utah.
Monta Ellis has to play better… he’s going to have to show us why he got the Most Improved Player Award. I still think Kevin Martin was robbed, at least hes a real starter for the Kings. On a lighter note, congrats to Al Harrington for finding his jumper. The Dallas series was hard for him but he showed Nelson and the rest of us how he averaged 20pts in the regular season. He was draining those 3 pointers… maybe Nelson should have considered giving him the final shot.
