Capcom tunes Okami to Casual DS Owners with Okamiden – Same, just Cuter

It’s obvious that the Okamiden developers know who their target DS market is. It’s easier to sell a cute pup like this to Nintendogs owners than it is to sell the original snarling wolf. Regardless of what the new Okami looks like I’m sure most Okamiden buyers will be hardcore gamers who have played the original Okami. It still astounds me how few people have actually experienced the original Okami. Luckily the rerelease on the Nintendo Wii allowed Capcom to generate a larger fan base and more sales with the same game. Sadly original art style will probably be lacking in the new DS version.

ah, so that’s what it is. i think i prefer paintbrushing analog style, but i guess the DS stylus seems like a natural fit here. i was hoping for a proper sequel, but this’ll do.

cool, now i can write kanji properly on the DS against foes… and still have it do absolutely nothing.

each persona game is kind of its own story (within the same universe, I believe) so you don’t need anything to get into p3. although, if you want a “true” ending, then you should pick up persona 3:FES. I think it’s cheap right now (if people have it), but it comes with the original and the end game on two discs. so that may or may not defeat the purpose of getting the psp version.
