Madden 10: How to get Roster Update, Xbox 360 and PS3

The only way to download the Madden 10 Roster Update is to start a match against an online opponent. First select Xbox Live or Online from the menu. Then select Play under Online Match. Then select Quick Match. It will search for a game for you. Once it finds a game a pop up will ask you to download the Roster Update. After it completes you can choose to continue the online game or quit.
This must be irritating for people on the other end expecting a real game when all of a sudden the opponent quits. Why EA decided not to make a download section like 2k Sports… No idea. Since the Roster Updating is done this way you won’t be able to download the Roster Update if you have a Silver Xbox Live account. Sign up for a Gold Xbox Live trial account or get a friend to give it to you over a memory card.
Once you’ve downloaded the Roster Update, it will show up in your file list in the Load section. This roster should be automatically loaded every time you start up the game but if it doesn’t you can always load it manually.
Actually there is a way to download the update with a silver account and by not playing in a game. Just go to the depth chart menu and it will automatically update!
I’ve tried this and it seems to work. Just select Xbox Live and select Depth Chart to download the latest roster update. I don’t think you could do this on Madden 09.
